Northwest Fishing Magazine September 2025 Volume 5 Issue 1 - Flipbook - Page 4
EDITOR’S CORNER:
Welcome to September, that magical time when salmon anglers start to really focus on returning
coho salmon. Mix in another strong run of pinks that will still be lingering around, and you have the
prescription for some full coolers and smiling anglers.
I have many fond memories of launching out of Shilshole at o-dark hundred, and later the Edmonds
sling for coho at the painful late hour of 7 am (we still caught plenty of fish!). The first three weeks of
September can be lights-out fishing, and as we move later into the month, the fish just get bigger
and bigger! Just be sure to bring a healthy dose of patience, as the lineups at the launch sites will get
long. Have some compassion for the new boaters, lend them a hand and a word of encouragement.
We were all beginners at one time. Wishing you all good fishing and a full punch card!
